Age statement: I am well over 21.

I like gritty, difficult science fiction. Give me Philip K. Dick questioning reality, Octavia Butler testing my morality, and Ursula K. LeGuin or Joanna Russ challenging gender-role stereotypes. Favorite sf authors (in no particular order): Philip K. Dick, Neal Stephenson, Connie Willis, Ursula K. LeGuin, Iain M. Banks, Nicola Griffith, William Gibson. I'm all about thinking of sf/fantasy/horror as serious genres.

My penname is an elision of 'ubiquitously quirky.' I nabbed the idea of shortening ubiquitous from Philip K. Dick's novel Ubik, and a particular cover for that novel is the source of my default icon.

My life as a fan on the internet began because of Buffy. In 2000, I discovered fanfic and never looked back. My next fixation was Firefly/Serenity. Then HP fanfic caught my attention (instead of the source material). Current obsessions include Doctor Who, Battlestar Galactica, and Dr. Horrible.

I write adult material and link to adult material - if you are not 18 years old or allowed to look at adult material in your country, please do not read my journal. In terms of fandoms, I write Buffy, Firefly, and HP in respective amounts in that order. I mostly write genfic these days, but if I do write ships, they range from het to femslash to slash.
